The name uJenga comes from the Swahili word jenga, which means “to build” or “to construct.” In Swahili, adding the “u” turns it into a concept, uJenga becomes “the act of building.” We chose this name because it captures what we stand for: creating strength, clarity, and lasting outcomes in the projects we support.
Every successful project depends on a strong foundation. For us, that foundation is commercial certainty. Just as no structure can stand without a solid base, no project can thrive without clear contracts, managed risks, and confident decision-making. The name uJenga reflects this belief: when the base is secure, you can build higher, stronger, and with confidence.
With this philosophy at the core, we work side-by-side with our clients to provide more than advice. We give them certainty they can rely on. Whether it’s guiding a contract, managing claims, or resolving disputes, our role is to strengthen the foundations so our clients can focus on what they do best — building.
uJenga was founded by Roger Newman, a commercial leader with more than 25 years’ global experience across four continents, including 15 years with Tier 1 infrastructure contractors in Australia. Through that experience, Roger has seen first-hand that no matter how complex the project, success depends on building from a foundation of certainty.
The name uJenga reflects that belief. It’s not just a brand, it’s a philosophy shaped by decades of working inside major projects where clarity, trust, and well-structured contracts made the difference between dispute and delivery.
uJenga is Roger’s way of bringing that philosophy to every client: constructing with commercial certainty you can rely on.
